aBOUT JEAN-MARC FERRAN, DIRECTOR

Jean-Marc Ferran is a Life Sciences Entrepreneur based in Copenhagen with 20+ years of experience in the Life Sciences industry. Prior to starting his company, Qualiance, he worked as a Statistician, Standards Manager and as Director of Statistical Programming at Novo Nordisk and Ferring Pharmaceuticals.

During his career, Jean-Marc has worked on many Statistical Computing Environment Implementations in business and technical positions and is also a user of these systems. He has a unique 360-degree experience spanning from working as an end user, supporting customers as an implementation partner, to developing trusted solutions alongside software vendors.

Jean-Marc also leads the PHUSE Data Transparency Working Group and advises companies on how to implement Data Sharing initiatives. In 2017, he has been appointed as a member of the European Medicines Agency’s Technical Anonymisation Group (EMA TAG) and Health Canada Reference Group (HCRG) on Public Release of Clinical Information (PRCI).

He took various positions within PHUSE on the Conference and Events Committees and as a Board Member between 2014 and 2017. Jean-Marc chaired the Annual Conference in 2012 in Budapest and is a Lifetime Honorary member of the society for his significant contribution to the organisation over the years.

Jean-Marc is also a huge sports fan. When he is not consulting or attending conferences, he enjoys cycling, playing basketball and watching rugby, having played the latter at club level for 15 years.
